Financial services industry leader Frank Bisignano was sworn in today as the 18th Commissioner of Social Security.
He joins the Social Security Administration from Fiserv, the industry leading payments and fintech company, where he was Chairman and CEO.
“President Trump has been clear about Social Security. We will protect it,” said Commissioner Bisignano. “We will make the Social Security Administration a premier organization.”

Frank,
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has always been a nonpartisan agency focused on servicing the public, until now. This week, you sent out an unprecedented email climbing that Trump’s so called “Big, Beautiful, Bill, eliminates federal income taxes on Social Security benefits. This statement is deeply misleading and dangerously political. It’s not coming from a campaign, but from a government agency now being used to spread misinformation.
The truth? The bill doesn’t eliminate federal income taxes in Social Security benefits. The bill provides a temporary tax deduction, not a full exemption.
I’m not sure why this is the historic step forward that you claimed it to be. It isn’t permanent, and it doesn’t benefit everyone.
Perhaps you were referring to other items in the bill as a step forward? The bill slashes food assistance, cuts people from health insurance, eliminates clean energy efforts, explodes the national debt, but gives people like you even more tax cuts. It robs from the poor and gives to the rich.
What’s historic, and grotesque, is the politicization of an agency that has never, in its history, issued statements like this. I get it. You enjoyed patting yourself on the back. You weren’t chosen because you were the right person for the job, you were chosen because you will do whatever is expected of you from a fascist dictator.

Frank Bisignano. I’m making sure his name is listed with all of the comments about the SSA, and how angry, afraid and disappointed the American public is during this Trump administration. Frank Bisignano‘s appointment is because he is “Christian” (see The Plan and goal to take over the US) and highly aggressive at cutting jobs, which is easy to see if you look at employee reports of his most recent company, Fiserv and before then.
The junk message that he had the SSA email out to Americans is propaganda. They are trying to spin this to make it sound good, saying that the spending bill “eliminates federal income taxes on Social Security benefits for most beneficiaries.”
What they ACTUALLY wrote into the Billionaire Bill is that it is a TEMPORARY tax deduction break for seniors, and not a removal of taxes. Every news agency that isn’t Trump-washing is reporting that the GOP and SSA are not telling the truth.

I, too, received that anonymous email from SSA. This email is a totally unacceptable use of government resources. This is a gratuitous political message. It is a misuse of communication tools to SS recipients. We will not be gaslighted. The bill that made this “tax break” possible will wreck America. You should not be touting it as a victory.

I, amidst many, many other recipients of SS benefits was absolutely appalled at the partisan email sent out regarding the new budget bill. It is perfectly appropriate to send FACTUAL information about how this bill will affect beneficiaries. Sucking up to the Trump administration is NOT acceptable. It is WRONG. Whoever wrote that sickening email should be fired. If it was the Commissioner, he should also be fired.

Your SSA Judge in Charlotte NC has decided our 11 year old was no longer autistic. Our child was diagnosed at 4. Receive SSI from that age. Never the full amount. So according to the Judge our sons pediatrician therapists schools are all wrong with his diagnosis. So according to said Judge our son should stop taking meds,no leg braces and be removed from IEP program. According to Judge the parents, pediatrician therapists schools were all persuavilly in his diagnosis. According to Judge a doctor from Massachusetts is only one who’s right in his non disability. We live in NC We were made to visit this doctor who was 2 counties over and 50;mins away Do you see how fishy and corrupt this Judgement looks.

Commissioner Bisognano,
I had the pleasure of working with you at JP Morgan. And, it was great to see someone of your leadership in charge of Social Security.
I would be happy to volunteer to assist in any program which supports a restructuring of Social Security to safekeep the American benefits while streamlining the operating process
I have two quick ideas. I thought I would share.
1) Enable people to donate their Social Security benefit to their children tax-free. This will assist in growing the trust pool on a temporary but longer term basis.
2)Enable young people to trade Social Security benefits for reduction of student loans. They will give up Social Security benefits in the future, but continue to pay into the program now if their student loans are
You have a lot of talented retirees, willing to donate their time and experience. Please use this talent to help.
Good luck Frank, and I hope and pray that you will be successful

Two ideas to be reviewed in more detailed, perhaps. You have a lot of talented retirees, willing to donate their time and experience. Please use this talent to help.

There is no “new law” that eliminates Federal Income Taxes on Social Security benefits. There will be a “temporary” increased deduction for seniors. It seems like this temporary deduction benefits seniors who have a high enough income to be able to deduct anything. Most seniors who only have Social Security as their income source don’t pay Federal Income Taxes anyway. The email that was sent is not a neutral, accurate description of what has transpired with the passage of this bill. Some of us actually do our research and know what is going on. Obviously, this email was not intended for us.

This is blatant misinformation. This ugly, corrupt bill will strip people of their health insurance, cut food assistance for the poor, kill off clean energy development and raise the national debt by trillions of dollars.
Concerning social security, the ugly bill provides a TEMPORARY tax deduction. Framing this email as it eliminates having to pay federal income tax is misleading, and morally repugnant.
We deserve better.
